The Republican nominee for Governor of Illinois, Darren Bailey, has begged for support from Donald Trump to get the right wing support in the primary a few weeks ago. After the primary he is trying to walk away from the radical positions, including the Big Lie, that got him the nomination. He knows he needs the independent and some Democrat votes to have a chance to beat a popular self-financed incumbent.
Bailey’s attempt to straddle the fence has caused him to put both feet in his mouth again. His wholehearted support of the abortion issue caused him to say he supported a law to prohibit abortions before saying he was “against it for now.” Now he is up to his knees in his mouth. When asked if he supported the state-wide censure of Representative Adam Kinzinger, Bailey was once a member of that group, He wouldn’t answer the question directly but said he “Didn’t agree with anything that Adam Kinzinger stands for.” Kinzinger stands for the truth, justice, and the constitution of the United States. This deep character principle has put him on the January 6 Committee. That statement of opposition to Kinzinger means an oath to the Federal or State Constitution means nothing to him.
Does it mean anything to any of those sycophants running for office? Does getting elected mean more than a moral character? Should we consider voting for someone with such immoral traits?
