Here is an interesting observation of History and a possible future for the United States. Vladimir Putin was President of Russia in 2000 to 2008 with Dmitry Medvedev his Vice-President. The Russian Constitution prohibited him from a third time. He made sure his Vice-President was elected to follow him for his prescribed legal time. Putin then got back in power with a changed Constitution: President remains in power for life.

            Here we have a President believing he should be President for the rest of his life. If he is unable to get the Constitution changed in the remaining three years, will his followers put J.D. Vance in to succeed him? Barring a neural collapse or being jailed Trump could possibly live through a Vance Presidency controlled by him.

            Trump thinks of himself as being on the same level as a Putin or Xi who have total power and able to be dictator for the rest of their life. When he has the total control of the nation’s legal system and control of the nation’s legislative body, and an apparent strong influence over the Supreme Court he is basically a Dictator now.

            Putin is one of the world’s richest people through his power. Trump has done much of the same thing through his sleight of hand by putting things into his trusts and companies which benefit him. This has made billions for him and his family.
