I am a low tech guy with my third flip phone which has a pile of things I will never use and make its use more complicated. At my advanced senior age I lack a desire to increase my knowledge of social media or the sites which have misinformation and outright lies.
As I talk with people I find they fear many different things depending on their age. Seniors are more fearful of artificial intelligence being used to con them into losing money or their vote. They do have a concern about who will be 2025 President and climate change in regards to their children and grand children.
People in their forties and fifties and don’t work with their hands are concerned about AI taking their jobs leaving them without prospects. They are concerned about the increasing efforts of global warming on them and their children.
A person in their twenties’ number one fear is climate change because they have seen its effects and it was taught in school. They have grown up in the rapid advances of high technology and see it as a positive.
Most have fears for America’s future because of politics and geopolitical issues. The younger the person is the less they seem to understand or know about the fears of older people. I think the lack of actually talking across the age groups is the reason for the stratification. People have gotten away from face-to-face discussions about fears which is a problem to all of us.
